Domaine

Our appellations

Our winery produces wines from appellations Touraine and Touraine-Chenonceaux, as well as IGP Val de Loire on several unique cuvées such as the Pinot Noir.

White grape varietes

Sauvignon (70%)
As far as the white wines are concerned, we solely work with Sauvignon – as we find it to be the varietal the most approriate for our soil and our Terroir.

Red grape varietes

Red grape varieties that we produce include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, and Malbec (locally named Côt).

Although most of our reds are varietal-oriented, our red Touraine-Chenonceaux will have you discover the wonders behind the Côt/Cabernet Franc blend.

Our location

Our vineyard extends mainly over the hillsides overlooking the right bank of the River Cher in the municipalities of Thésée and Monthou sur Cher, near the wonderful châteaux of Chenonceaux and Chambord.

Our vision

Mindful of producing wine of a socially and economically sustainable, environmental quality, we have therefore chosen to use all techniques aimed at respecting and safegarding our Earth and our Vines. By observing the vines and their environment, we can therefor help to protect Nature every day, as far as possible, for the benefit of future generations.

Our terroir

Clayey-siliceaous soils,  flinty sands (called « perruches ») and calcareous soils which allow for a good natural drainage and good aeration of the roots.  South-east and south-west expositions with sight over the Cher river to benefit of its climatic influence.

About

The influence of the Cher River

The Touraine-Chenonceaux vineyard covers both banks of the river Cher located in the departments of Indre-et-Loire and Loire-et-Cher. Concentrated on the upper slopes, it has the particularity of being implanted on clay-siliceous grounds also called « Perruches » as well as oil flint and limestone soils.
Good luminosity, regular ventilation and low pluviometry characterize the micro-climate of the Cher Valley, so favorable to grow vines.
These conditions take part naturally in the identity ofTouraine Chenonceaux wines by influencing their aromas and their structure.
Touraine-Chenonceaux

The expression of a Terroir

The white wines of Touraine-Chenonceaux, only made from Sauvignon Blanc, are of great aromatic intensity. They reveal aromas of ripe fruits (citrus, pear, apricot) even exotic fruits (pineapple, passion fruits) and express fine brioche-like toasted notes. Ample, fat, and powerful in the mouth, their richness and complexity will even surprise you after a few years of ageing!
The red wines of Touraine-Chenonceaux are a blend of Côt (also called Malbec) and Cabernet Franc. They reveal subtle aromas of ripe black fruits (cherry, stewed fruits, ripe and jammy). In the mouth, the supple and silky smooth tannins provide for these wines elegance and long ageing, worth of great red wines from the Loire Valley.
